Our Story
Hi, we’re Nic and Joey. We are the directors of Africa Amava.
We launched in 2016 to create a personalised service catering for the specific needs of discerning travellers and property owners.
We believe that great experiences make life truly worth living - we mean personal experiences, African experiences. That’s why we called ourselves “Africa Amava”.
As facilitators of your 'amavalous' Cape Town experience, we’re here to help to make everything an experience designed around you- your needs, your interests, your personality and your style!
The Story behind the story
We’re called "Africa Amava" for two reasons:

Firstly, we’re African, rooted in Africa and providing some of the best of what the Western Cape of South Africa has to offer.

Secondly, we’re all about experiences, personal experiences and African experiences. That’s where "amava" comes in. It’s derived from the local South Africa Xhosa language and it means "experience". But the word means much more than just a 2-dimensional experience, it means rich personal old school hospitality, in full 3D! It means sharing, it means being open to new experiences and the gift that a new experience has to offer.
